Happy Labor Day weekend! Labor Day usually marks the beginning of fall; school starts back up, the leaves begin to change, and you pull out your sweaters for the cool, brisk weather. The spooky season also brings, you guessed it, new wedding trends! Here are my top wedding trend predictions for the fall of 2021:

Dried Flowers - Rustic meets boho chic with this flower trend! It’s a nostalgic, unique idea for your bouquet, centerpieces, or decor in general. You can create this look by preserving hydrangeas, lavender, and daisies then adding in rust colored leaves and braided wheat.

Bold Colors - Fall allows for creative uses of color. In the summer you see a lot of people sticking with a modern look; whites, neutrals, flowers, etc. But during this time of year everyone seems to forget about keeping up with the Joneses and instead decides to embrace their individualistic style. Expect to see lots of oranges, yellows, greens, browns, and reds incorporated in all kinds of ways.

Fall Desserts/Drinks - Spice up your dessert table with some seasonal favorites! You can have a DIY candy apple station, miniature sweet potato and pecan pies, or a carrot cake. You can also add some flavor to the bar like spiked hot chocolate, apple cider mimosas, pumpkin spice martinis, and cranberry moscow mules. There are so many fun recipes for fall drinks at InsanelyGoodRecipes.

Centerpieces - Not only are they colorful but they add a lot of texture to your table decor. Create an array of pinecones, pumpkins, gourds, leaves, and even twinkly lights in mason jars. You can even have guests take them home as a gift to reuse them for the holidays!

Velvet - Velvet is lush, luxurious and looks amazing in fall colors. You can incorporate this material into your bridesmaid dresses, bridal robes, table runners, or ribbon around your bouquet. You name it, it can be done in velvet.

Outdoor Weddings - I’m starting to think these will never go out of style! With COVID-19 still around, outdoor weddings are still the best way to keep you and all your guests safe and socially distanced. But fall is also the perfect season for an outdoor ceremony! It’s not too hot or cold, you can have it at a cozy barn or winery, and there's way less worry when it comes to decor; the leaves take care of that themselves! Say your vows under a wooden arbor, have your guests sit on tree stumps with cushions, and have a basket of blankets handy in case of a breeze.

So break out the Halloween decorations and start preparing your Thanksgiving meals because fall is among us! Keep an eye on these 2021 trends and I hope some of these inspire you this wedding season!
